Getting to know Arnee

Arlienita R. Beraya or Arnee was born and raised in the small island of San Juan in Laverazares, Northern Samar, Philippines. Her parents have been a big influence in her chosen career as an educator due to them being teachers in their locality. Arnee completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Eastern Philippines in 2004 and worked in Philippine General Hospital in different specialties: OB-Gynecology, Labor and Delivery, and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit to name a few.

In 2008, she received a master’s degree scholarship opportunity in the United States of America under the Exchange Visitor (J-1) Program. While completing her graduate program, she worked  as a Staff Nurse in Baptist Health System assigned to Pediatrics, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit. She received her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of the Incarnate Word in 2011. After passing the Clinical Nurse Leader certification, she fulfilled her passion for teaching by working as a  full-time Clinical Instructor at Galen College of Nursing from 2013 to 2015. She continued her teaching career at the University Health System and became a Nurse Educator in the Orthopedic-Surgical Department and conducting General Nursing Orientation to new hire. She is currently the nurse educator of Cardiothoracic and Transplant Unit of University Hospital.

Arnee has been a member of PNASA since 2018 and was appointed as Education Chair and the rest was history. Her passion for education and service, and outstanding leadership skills lead her to be elected as PNASA president for the term 2022-2024. Together with her Executive Board, they formulated the following mantra to guide them in fulfilling their commitment to the purpose and objectives of PNASA.

  1. To ALIGN with other organizations that share the same purpose of PNASA.

  2. To RESPOND to the relevant needs of the Filipino nursing families and the community.

  3. To BELONG to an organization that generates camaraderie and member engagement.
